5 Fabulous Spring Break Activities on San Juan Island

This Spring, treat yourself to an uncomplicated island getaway. 1. Sea Kayak Tour

2. Wildflower Hike

Climb Mount Young in English Camp National Historical Park or Mount Grant Preserve and see the island’s stunning wildflowers emerge. Bring your binoculars to watch Bald Eagles and Hawks.

4. Whale & Wildlife Tour

In Spring, the majestic Humpbacks return to the Salish Sea from their breeding grounds in Hawaii and Mexico with their new babes in tow. The mammal-eating Biggs Killer Whales have been spotted as early as March. There will be baby seals and sea lions and absolutely adorable baby Bald eaglets learning how to fly. 5. Baby Foxes on the Prairie

The prairie above South Beach in American Camp National Historical Park is home to the island renowned Red Foxes. In Spring, when mama fox goes hunting, the fluffy pups emerge from their dens and play – so cute. Always stay at least 75 feet away and never feed the foxes to keep them wild.
