5 Fun Things to do in April only on San Juan Island

In April San Juan Island awakens from its Winter slumber, as all the seasonal restaurants and attractions open up. The isle is all decked out in wildflowers and blossoming trees. The Orcas and Humpbacks are returning as the first whale watching tours are departing just footsteps from our Bird Rock Hotel. And then there are all the baby animals on sea and land to adore.

Earth Day Celebration

Every Saturday before Earth Day the isle celebrates Earth Day with the Great Island Beach Clean-up. Come to the fun San Juan Brewery at 10:00am for a beach assignment. Bring your garbage back to the brewery at 2:00pm for weighing and raffle prizes for the coolest trash. Stay for the amazing after-party with live music, kids activities and $1 beer for volunteers.

Oyster Lunch at Tide Table

In April Westcott Bay Shellfish Farm opens their lovely Tide Table restaurant for lunch. Reservations are a must. Feast on the freshest shellfish, local greens, freshly baked bread and charcuterie paired with a local glass of wine or beer.
