Our Story at Bird Rock Hotel
Built in 1891, Bird Rock Hotel has been welcoming travelers to Friday Harbor for well over a century.
Over the years, this building has lived many lives. It has been a boarding house, a hotel, a hostel, even a pizza place at one point. Like Friday Harbor itself, it has evolved with the times while holding onto its character.
What makes Bird Rock special isn’t just its age, but how it has been thoughtfully reimagined.
Rather than turning it into something generic, the goal has always been to preserve what makes it unique while making it comfortable for today’s traveler. Each room is a little different. Some have unexpected layouts, some have shared baths, and many reflect the quirks that come with a historic building.
